Legend has it a preacher who was also a distiller taught Jack Daniel how to run a still, then Jack set out and created the best-selling American whiskey in the world. But that version isn’t the whole story. The company is now embracing its history, honoring a former slave named Nearest Green that taught Jack Daniel everything he knew.
